14 Mar 1829 in Leslie Fife, seventh child and third son of John Johnston and Janet Oswald. Christened in Leslie Parish Church.

Life:

In 1892 suffered from severe heart attack. Living in Wamphray, Kirkcudbrightshire. Still there in 1900 and suffering ill health.
