August 1795 second daughter and twin to James (sixth and seventh children out of 15 of Alexander Clement and Grizell Allan), in the parish of Balmaclellan, Kircudbrightshire. Christened at Balmaclellan Parish Church (Church of Scotland) on 17 August 1795.
