Born: About 1777, Janet Corrie first child and daughter of William Corrie, tenant farmer at Hollows, Torthorwald, and Margaret Kirkpatrick Life: Left £60, share of linen and eight day clock by her uncle John Kirkpatrick, farmer of Parkside, in his 1819 will. Her son John Boyd, a minor, also gets a legacy - £30, silver watch, 6 silver teaspoons and pair of sugar tongs, a trunk and 2 bandboxes and "my whole cloaths and wearing apparel of every description". Janet's husband is Wm Boyd and a William Boyd of Blackshaw is a trustee of the will. 17 Jun 1871 mentioned as sending her sympathies in a letter from her son to Alexander Currie on the death of her brother James Charters, so still alive then.
