Born:

August 1797, sixth son and eighth of 15 children to Alexander Clement and Grizel Allan, in the parish of Balmaclellan, Kircudbrightshire. Christened at Balmaclellan Parish Church (Church of Scotland) on 22 August 1797.

Life:

Called after brother Jacob who died in May 1797. Present at the wedding of sister Rosanna to James Charters Currie in 1824, age 26.

Died:

1844, according to JCC's diary.
