| John (Jack) Alexander Currie 1865-1900 | |
Born: 28 Jan 1865 in New Cross, London, third child and second son of Alexander Currie and Jessie Johnston. May have been called John after Jessie's father John Johnston. Life: In 1881, age 16, insurance broker's clerk. Keen cyclist and member of the Lewisham Bicycle Club. 1892, age 27, working in Roxburgh, Currie & Co (insurance underwriting). Died: Mar 1900, age 35, at "Leslie", Mycenae Road Blackheath, of a heart condition, blamed on the stress of taking on the business after the death of his father Alexander. 13 Mar 1900, buried in Nunhead Cemetery (now in Southwark) grave 1734/162. |
