Born:

10 Sep 1838, eighth child and seventh son of James Charters Currie and Rosanna Clement. Christened at St Vincent Street Scotch Church, Stepney on 7 Oct 1838.

Life:

In 1859-1860, age 21-22, he is in Gibraltar sending back sketches of water carriers, goatherds, moors and soldiers. There is another dated sketch of a shepherd and his dog in 1868 (age 30 Note: I should make it clear that it is David and not the dog who was 30 at this point - thanks Catriona!) and various other undated sketches. After this we hear no more of David.
