April 1806 , eighth son and twelfth of 15 children to Alexander Clement and Grizel Allan, in the parish of Balmaclellan, Kircudbrightshire. Christened at Balmaclellan Parish Church (Church of Scotland) on 26 April 1806.

Died age 7 on 4 March 1813. Buried in Balmaclellan Kirkyard. "David Clement died 4th March 1813 son of Alexander , Mortinston aged 7 years."
